Eric Nevils went up the middle into Bengal territory on the Cavs 2nd drive.
Bengal QB Niko Wells threw for over 200 yards and 2 TDs.

In a heated battle for South End supremacy the Pierce County Bengals defeated rival Washington Cavaliers 40-6 at Yelm High School.
The Cavaliers received the first break of the game when safety Adam Stone intercepted a Nico Wells pass deep in Cavalier territory to end a long Bengal drive. The Cavaliers were able to move the ball across midfield on a 17 yard burst up the middle by Eric Nevils, but on the next play Bengal DT Preston Slaughter disrupted a handoff in the Cavalier backfield and LB David Combs recovered at the Bengal 49. Wells went to work hitting Muhammed Arkim for 17 yards and then lofting a 26 yard bomb bomb to Jessie Baines and letting him out-fight the defender for the ball at the Cavalier 10 yard line.

Cavalier cornerback Jeremy Nelson had great coverage on this throw but Jessie Baines somehow came down with the ball.
Bengal RB #32 reaches for paydirt while getting forced out of bounds by a bunch of Cavs.

RB #32 (not on roster) finished the drive with an 8 yard blast up the middle and then scored from 2 yards out on a sweep. He was pushed out short of the goal but had the presence of mind to reach out and break the plane with the ball.

Cav MLB Forrest Bennett returned this interception down to the Bengal 33.
Jesse Baines lulled the Cavs to sleep before returning this punt 64 yards for a score.
The Cavs offense again went 3 and out, but their defense again bailed them out with an interception. This time it was MLB Forrest Bennett who returned the ball down to the Bengal 33 yard line. The Cav offense advanced as far as the 10 before being thwarted. The Bengals responded with a 13 play, 67 yard drive down to the Cavalier 19, but came away empty as Nathan Turner's 37 yard field goal attempt went wide right.
Things went from bad to worse for the Cavs as their offense went 3 and out again. Bryan Hooper got off a towering 36 yard punt that took an enormous bounce. Bengal return man Jessie Baines just calmly stood there with a couple of Cavaliers waiting for the ball to come down. The wait lulled the Cavs to sleep and when the ball finally came down to Baines, he took off breaking and eluding tacklers for 64 yards. Nathan Turner's PAT put the Bengals up 13-0.
Travis Thomas caught this short pass across the middle and outran the Cav defense to the endzone.
This pass bounced off the hand of the Cavaler receiver to safety Kellen Brooks who returned it down to the Cavs 20.
A 31 yard return by Steve Arnett set up the Cavs at their own 28. On first down the Cavalier QB underthrew a receiver who was behind the Bengal defense and safety Kellen Brooks was there for the interception. The Bengals took over at midfield and needed just 4 plays to capitalize, with Wells hitting Travis Thomas across the middle for a 32 yard score.
On the Cavs first play from scrimmage another Kellen Brooks interception set up Bengal offense at the Cavalier 20. This time Wells hit a wide open Jessie Baines on a fade for the easy score with just seconds left in the first half.. In just 9 plays the score had gone from 6-0 to 27-0.
After Brooks 2nd interception, Wells found Baines in his usual position, wide open behind the Cavalier defense, for an easy score.
Paul Snow bulled thru a crack in the Cavalier defense for a 4 yard score early in the 3rd qtr..
Lehman Jones hops a would-be-tackler into the endzone for an 8 yard score.
The Cavs opened the 2nd half with two more 3 and out series. Each time short punts set up the Bengals close to midfield. They cashed in both times. Paul Snow finished a 3 play, 51 yard drive with a 4 yard run. Lehman Jones galloped into the endzone from 8 yards out to culminate a 6 play, 43 yard drive which extended the Bengal lead 40-0.

Jay Schaff stretches out for a score early in the 4th quarter.

The Cavaliers finally got their offense on track as the 3rd quarter ended. They went on a 13 play, 70 yard drive to avoid the shutout. The Bengal defense nearly kept the Cavs out of the endzone. They stuffed the Cavs on 3 straight plays and turned a 1st and goal at the 2 into a 4th and goal at the 4. RB Jay Schaff bounced off a Bengal tackler at the 3 and fell forward, holding the ball out at the last second to break the plane. The Cavaliers rushed 11 times for 39 yards on the drive.

The Bengals gave the Cavs 3 more opportunites via a botched punt snap, an interception at the Cavalier 3, and a fumbled punt return, but the Cavs were unable to capitalize on the opportunities.
